About Me, author of iMixie.com
I am a retired 75 year old grandfather from Kerala and a graduate Mechanical Engineer, graduated in 1968 from one of the Government of India’s Regional Engineering Colleges – REC (now called NIT or the National Institute of Technology). I have an MBA from The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade – IIFT, New Delhi, an IIM equivalent institution.
I worked in Dubai for nearly 40 years in Hi Tech industries. After retirement, sitting idle doing nothing is one of the most boring phase of ones life. So to keep myself active, I have taken up blogging as a hobby and a passion. Links to my websites are given below on this page. I am also active on Quora having written many answers. My interest in Mixers and Wet Grinders
I love my daily breakfast of idli dosa, Sambar and Chutney. My love for idli dosa breakfast, made me to always look for better ways to make the idly dosa batter. So in the almost 40 years I worked in Dubai, I have used countless mixer grinders starting with the early Braun (German), Oster (USA) and Moulinex (French) Mixers or blenders as they were called then. When the very first model of our own Indian Sumeet Mixie came out, I bought it at the first available opportunity. One of the first electric table top wet grinder models to come out in India was the Maharaja brand, and it weighed about 10 Kg. On one of my business trips to Bombay (now Mumbai) I bought this wet grinder and took it to Dubai paying excess baggage. Getting service for mixies in Dubai in those days was impossible, so used to do my own repairs whenever my mixer grinder or wet grinder had problems. This has made me an expert on Mixer Grinders which I know inside out. Also, I used to insist on making the idli Dosa batter trying various ratios and ingredients. This used to infuriate my wife (She passed away recently -RIP). In short, I do know what to look for when buying a Mixer Grinder and how to decide on what is the best mixer grinder in India.
I used to love the days when we were served idli in our Engineering College Mess (Canteen). Even then I used to take special interest in how the idli maavu was made. Also I may have been part of the team that invented the first electric wet grinder. See the page here ‘History of the Electric Wet Grinders’

How I started authoring Websites:
About 12 years ago I had a massive heart attack and was lucky to survive after having an open heart surgery. I was told to take bed rest and so took leave from the company for almost 6 months. I was so bored doing nothing that I started using the internet in earnest, and was so fascinated with it, that I wanted to make my own web sites. This led me to learning web design and finally writing and making my own web sites. Now some of them needs updating and it is being done, but slowly, due to not being in the prime of health. Here is a list of websites written and published by me in the last 11 years.
